Tactical Frequency: Simplex 147.480 MHz

Los Gatos-Monte Sereno ARES/RACES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service/Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service) works in conjunction with the Town of Los Gatos, The City of Monte Sereno, the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department, and the Santa Clara County Office of Emergency Services to provide emergency communication for the communities of Los Gatos and Monte Sereno.

Los Gatos-Monte Sereno ARES/RACES consists of licensed amateur radio operators who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment for communications duty in the public interest when disaster strikes. Los Gatos-Monte Sereno ARES/RACES operators are sworn Disaster Service Workers for the state of California.

An emergency communications net meets every Tuesday evening at 1930 hours, in two parts. First, on simplex frequency 147.48 MHz. This serves as the net's tactical frequency. Second, the net meets again immediately after the Simplex portion on repeater WSPIY, frequency 147.390 MHz, positive (+) offset, PL 151.4 MHz, which serves as both the Command and Resource frequency.

The Los Gatos-Monte Sereno ARES/RACES net is followed by the Santa Clara County Silicon Valley Emergency Communication System net each Tuesday evening at 2000 hours on the AA6BT repeater at 146.115 MHz, positive (+) offset, PL 100. If you miss check-in on the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno net, you may check in as missed or late on the County net when missed or late callsigns are requested for Los Gatos and Monte Sereno.
